A SERVICE MOTORSTEAD MANAGED

He thought it was scrap. It cost £183.

A 2006 Ford Fiesta came in for a routine service. During the inspection we found a coolant leak — the sort of thing that sounds terminal on a car of that age. The owner had already started thinking about scrapping it.

It was not terminal. We explained what was leaking, what it would take to put right and what it would cost. The repair came to £183, parts and labour — and the car went back on the road.

How much is an MOT?

A standard Class 4 car MOT is £50. That covers the test itself. Any repairs or additional work are quoted separately and are never included in the test price.

How does no pass, no fee work?

If your vehicle fails its MOT, you will not pay the MOT test fee. Any repairs needed to pass are quoted separately and are only carried out with your approval. The MOT itself is arranged through an authorised independent MOT test station.

Can my car be collected and returned on the same day?
